Your app’s screens are nobody’s data. Including ours.
EFFECTIVE 25 JULY 2026 · APPLIES TO THE ARGUS macOS APP AND THIS WEBSITE
Argus runs its AI on your Mac. Your screenshots, accessibility data, app binaries, prompts, and test results never leave your machine. We run no telemetry and no analytics in the app. The app touches the network only to download AI models (one-time) and, if you subscribe, to validate your license. That’s the whole policy — the rest is detail.
1. What the Argus app collects
Nothing, by default. Argus is a local-first tool. In ordinary use:
- Test prompts, plans, and run histories are stored only on your Mac (in your local Application Support folder), and you can delete them at any time from the app’s history browser.
- Screenshots and accessibility data captured from your devices are written only to your local disk and are never transmitted anywhere.
- AI planning and vision run entirely on-device via Apple’s MLX framework. No prompt, image, or model input is sent to us or any third party.
- There is no telemetry, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, and no advertising identifier in the app.
2. When the app uses the network
- Model download (one-time): Argus downloads open-weight AI models from Hugging Face’s public servers when you first set up. This is an ordinary file download; it identifies your IP address to that service, as any download does. Hugging Face’s own privacy policy governs their servers.
- License validation (subscribers): if you purchase a subscription, the app periodically validates your license key with our payment provider. This transmits the license key and standard connection metadata — never your test content.
- Nothing else. You can verify this: after model download, Argus runs fully offline. Disconnect from the network and every feature except license checks continues to work.
3. Purchases
When the Paystack checkout launches, subscriptions will be processed by Paystack. Paystack processes your payment details — we never see or store your card number. We receive the information needed to issue and support your subscription, such as your email address, payment reference, and plan. Paystack’s privacy policy governs the checkout.
4. This website
This site is static pages. It sets no analytics scripts and embeds no third-party trackers. The pricing page requests current exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API to show an approximate local-currency price; that service receives the standard connection data involved in serving the request. Our web host records standard server logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp) for security and capacity purposes, retained briefly and not used to profile you.
5. What we never do
- We never receive, store, or view your app’s screens, binaries, or test data.
- We never sell or share personal information with data brokers or advertisers.
- We never train models — ours or anyone else’s — on your content. We couldn’t: we don’t have it.
6. Your rights
Because your test data lives only on your Mac, you control it completely — deleting it is as simple as deleting it. For the little we do hold (your email and order history, if you purchased), you may request a copy or deletion at any time and we will comply, subject to legal record-keeping obligations. Depending on where you live, these rights may be backed by GDPR, UK GDPR, or the CCPA; we honour them for everyone regardless.
7. Children
Argus is a professional developer tool, not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top and note the change in the app’s release notes. We won’t weaken the local-first commitments above and call it a clarification.
